Life in the village is characterized by simplicity, laughter, and comic moments that make life here memorable. Anyone who ever spent time in a village or witnessed scenes such as these play themselves out in the countryside knows well that some of the best tales are found in unlikeliest and hilarious moments of life.
Another classic moment is when the village kids decide to play pranks. One favorite prank was putting harmless insects in someone's shoe. Once, a friend was going to a wedding, all dressed up, when he slipped his foot into his shoes-only to find something squirmy inside. Priceless! He let out a small scream, jumped back, and gave a funny dance with everyone laughing.
The kids tried to keep a straight face, but actually everybody blew up laughing together. It is that innocence in their prank which makes everybody take it in good sport.
Animals in the village are also a source of great amusement. Anybody who has stayed here knows that animals have their personalities, especially goats and cows. Once, it was a family gathering, and a mischievous goat sneaked into the kitchen and started munching away on food prepared in advance for the guests. When they noticed it, the goat had already polished off half a pot of rice! The aunties chased it with their cooking spoons, and in just a second, the whole drama sounded like a comedy to the entire
family.
Later, this goat ran out of its home, and everybody burst with laughter, naming it a food inspector-something which remains my favorite story to date at family gatherings. Village life does not at all feel as if it's all play and excitement, but these funny moments and laughing set such beautiful memories that stay on with you. Starting from funny pranks by the children, to animals that often appear to be part of the family, each new day brings with it much happiness. It is just these small, joyful moments which add value to the feeling of staying in a village, reminding us that the simplest situations can give out the best of joy.
